Bellefonte Church of Christ
Centered on Christ. Rooted in Scripture. Welcoming all who seek Him.
Centered on Christ. Rooted in Scripture. Welcoming all who seek Him.
The Bellefonte congregation is an autonomous group of baptized believers who strive to follow and teach the God-breathed, inspired Word. Locally led by elders, served by deacons, and taught by preachers, we meet each Lord’s Day to partake of the Lord’s Supper, give as prospered, pray, sing, and hear the preaching of God’s Word.
Our mission is to encourage a deep relationship with God through Jesus Christ while evangelizing, edifying, and equipping with the Word of God.
God is Creator and sustainer of all life (Genesis 1:1). In love, He gave His Son Jesus for our salvation (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). The Holy Spirit guided the writers to give us the Word of God (John 14:15–16); the Bible provides all we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3; 2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Jesus came “to seek and to save” the lost (Luke 19:10) and is the head of His church (Colossians 1:18). We are called to obey Him (Hebrews 5:8–9) and walk by His Word.
We are saved by God’s grace through faith—responding to the gospel as we:
Bible classes Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights for all ages—grounded in God’s Word.
Congregational a cappella hymns of praise, thanksgiving, admonition, and teaching (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
Prayers of praise, thanksgiving, confession, and intercession throughout our assemblies (Ephesians 5:20; 6:18; Romans 12:12).
Observed each Sunday in remembrance of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 26:24–30; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23–29).
Members give each Sunday as prospered to support the Lord’s work (1 Corinthians 16:1–2). Guests are not expected to contribute.
The Word is preached each Sunday morning and evening (2 Timothy 4:2; Romans 10:14–15), and a heartfelt invitation is extended for anyone to respond for baptism, prayer, or encouragement.
